Set Up

Heroes

An example of how one might set up their Ranger play area.

  • Players will choose which rangers they want to play as from a pool of their choosing.  Upon deciding, they will take the corresponding Ranger Figures, Character Cards, decks and Zord cards.  Players will also choose a Megazord card for their game.
  • Ranger Character cards are placed in front of their respective players.  The Ranger decks are shuffled and each player can draw up to 5 cards from their respective decks, making sure to leave room for a discard pile.
  • Each player gets 2 Actioin Tokens and 1 Energy Token.

Villains

  • Players will decide which 2 Foot Soldiers, 2 Monsters/Nemeses, and ONE boss they will face from a pool of their choosing.  Upon deciding, they will then take the corresponding deployment and enemy cards.
  • The two Foot Soldier deployment decks will be shuffled together, and then split into 4 different stacks of 5 cards.
  • Take the two Monster/Nemesis deployment cards; place one in Stack 2, and the other in Stack 3.  Place the Boss deployment card in Stack 4.
  • Shuffle Stacks 2, 3 and 4 separately, being sure not to mix them together.  Players will then place Stack 1 on top of Stack 2, then on Stack 3

Game Board & Supply

  • Players will choose One Command Center.  They will then choose 4 outer locations based on the Foot Soldiers selected earlier.
  • The outer locations will randomly be placed around the Command Center.
  • All chosen Ranger Figures will be placed in the Command Center location, along with 3 energy tokens.  These energy tokens represent the “lives” the Rangers have remaining.

Power Board

  • The Power Board will be placed somewhere that is visible to all players.
  • The 5 Zord cards are shuffled and placed in a pile.  The Megazord card is placed on the bottom of the pile.
  • Place the Zord deck in the appropriate area on the board, and put the Megazord token close by.
  • Set the Power Marker on the “0” space of the Power Track.

Round Structure

Deployment Phase

This phase is where enemies are deployed to the various location boards.  Learn the ins and outs of the deployment phase here.

Action Phase

It is during this phase that the Rangers use their action tokens (which are refreshed after every Round) to perform various actions. Such actions include moving Rangers, recovering, or initiating combat.  Learn more about the Action Phase here.

Victory and Defeat

Victory

The Rangers win if they are able to defeat the boss in battle, and survive until the end of said battle.

Defeat

The Rangers lose if:

  1. All 4 outer location boards are panicked at the same time.
  2. A Ranger is defeated, and there are no more energy tokens in the center location.
